Family met little Davis

Last weekend Gavyn was blessed and he got to meet some of his extended family. Grandma and Grandpa Davis and Aunt Temperance, Grandma Pond (again), Papa Pond, and Uncles Michael and Matthew. Unfortunately, we didn't get pictures with the Ponds... or his beautiful blessing outfit as he soaked it in a diaper change during Sunday School.

Just as soon as the family left Renton, Gavyn and I turned around and followed the Ponds home and the little one had his first airplane ride! He did beautifully. He had a nice nap in my arms through security, boarding, and half-way through the flight. Then he woke up, had a bottle and stared very intently out the window for a while, did some tricks for the flight attendants and went back to sleep in time for our descent into Denver.

We had a slow weekend in Berthoud with the Pond family coming and going from Grandma & Papa's house. I got to go up with my dad in his new airplane, Gavyn got some new clothes and bigger diapers as I had failed to notice he'd outgrown the "newborn" size, and (most importantly) he got to meet the rest of his aunts, Uncle Mark, and two cousins, Ethan and Joseph.
What a week...

Big News!

He rolled over!
It was like any old day... Jared was in the front hall hanging the coat rack, I was in the bathroom hanging the shower curtain and Gavyn was doing some tummy time on a blanket just outside the bathroom door- I came out to check on him and he was on his back! I gasped (like mom did when we were learning to drive and she remembered she forgot to get celery and we thought we were going to die...) and Jared came running, thinking that something was wrong.... nope- just another milestone reached.

Story time

This is just a token image because I know pictures are more fun... but I have a couple of stories to share.

Story 1: Last week we were enjoying Gavyn's awake time on the floor- he was kicking and cooing.
Jared blew a raspberry on his tummy and said, "What do you think of that?"
And Gavyn replied with a little toot. The timing couldn't have been more perfect!

Story 2: We were at the mall exchanging Jared's iPhone - something stopped the home button from working - We were strolling through the food court and Gavyn decided he was hungry too... very hungry. Luckily I remembered hearing that the mall had a "family lounge". I went in and found a little play place, a line of sinks with changing stations between, and three booths with curtains for nursing mothers. WOW!
So I went in to the booth and just after, the curtain was pushed in by someone I could only assume was 2 1/2 feet tall. I gently pushed back and the munchkin went away for a little while. I started getting Gavyn out of the car seat harness and was joined by a curly haired little boy who just stood there staring up at me. His Russian mother came in, shooed him out and apologized profusely. I proceeded to get the screaming Gavyn out and was joined again by the curious curly headed stranger. His mom was very apologetic, and asked if her son could touch the baby to satisfy the intrigue. I get it. I think he's pretty cute too.
